Koç University Scientists Develop Salt-Impregnated Asphalt That De-Ices Itself

Icy roads are one of the biggest challenges brought by the winter season. A team from Koç University led by Dr. Seda Kizilel developed what may lead to a long-term solution to this problem.

Koç Law students contribute to United Nation’s Decision Analysis

The United Nations Human Rights Agreements Personal Application Decision Analysis Project led by the Koç University Center for Global Public Law in association with Oxford University Press started in 2015. Graduate and undergraduate students from the Faculty of Law will be contributing to the UN’s Decision Analysis to be published by the Oxford University Press series as reporters and analysts.

Do Centriolar satellites hold the answer to cancer, kidney diseases, obesity and blindness?

Structural and functional abnormalities of the centriolar satellites and the centrosome/ cilium complex are linked to a variety of human diseases including cancer, kidney diseases, obesity, blindness and others. Prof. Elif Nur Firat’s 2015 ERC project “Dissecting the structure and function of centriolar satellites: Key regulators of the centrosome/cilium complex.”will lead to the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for these diseases.
